ETHICAL CONSUMERISM is on the rise. Sales have reached tens of billions of dollars. Business is thinking about the retail consumer by providing Green consumer product choices. These companies are involved in the production or sale of products that promote Green values, sustainability and have management that are setting trends in this area. The 2007 list of companies honors those integrating sustainable practices into their business models and others whose products promote sustainability principles like wind and solar. I rate Vestas as #1, a producer of wind power generation products. COMV and FTEK tie for a close second. Herman Miller (Nasdaq: MLHR) and Interface (Nasdaq: IFSIA) come in third and should be commended for embracing sustainability principles over 10 years ago.
